The projection from last month was very nice. I am told that around 150 people were there.

Here is my photo projection at Recyclart Portfolio Turquie. Two super8 footages and a selection of street photography were projected. Super8 footages are from my flea market hunts. Both are dated from early 70s and were shot by tourists that visit Turkey. I have digitalised the super8 reels and edited them. For the first one I used a soundtrack from Orkestra Keyif that is found on Free Music Archive. For the latter Grup Ses Beats had a funky mix. During the projection Guillaume Le Boisselier & Margarida Guia have performed a soundscape. 150 people were present to see the projection. The photography is from analogue cameras only with using expired film as the medium. Most of them are shot by Lubitel 166U. Films are developed and scanned in a pro lab (Limelight) in Brussels. Photos are taken between 2008-2011 in Istanbul and Izmir.
Après la soirée en janvier sur la nouvelle photographie russe , nous nous intéressons à une nouvelle génération de photographes turcs. Le collectif de photographes Reccollective (Selim Sume, Serkan Taycan, Sevim Sancaktar et Melisa Onel) nous fait voyager au gré de ses illusions d’optique murales dans Istanbul et alentours. Cemil Batur Gökçeer trace des ponts entre onirisme et réalité avec une finesse magistrale. Engin Güneysu parcourt avec nous les rues de sa capitale, Ethem Pekin présente ses anciens films super 8 de voyages et d’événements du quotidien turc dans les années 70. Engin Gercek collectionne les portraits dans des intérieurs chargés et colorés. Hakan Simsek d’origine turque et installé à Bruxelles ouvre les portes d’appartements schaerbeekois. Zeynep Kayan est une photographe et vidéaste qui travaille sur les images de soi, de la féminité et de la condition humaine. Et pour terminer, Goksin Varan qui a signé plusieurs reportages choc sur les étrangers à Istanbul et la réalité des bidonvilles.

Na de avond in januari rond Russische fotografie, richten we nu onze aandacht op een nieuwe lichting Turkse fotografen. In vogelvlucht : het fotografencollectief Reccollective (Selim Sume, Serkan Taycan, Sevim Sancaktar en Melisa Onel) laat ons reizen doorheen illusoire muurschilderingen in Istanbul en elders. Cemil Batur Gökçeer slaat bruggen tussen droom en werkelijkheid met magistrale finesse. Engin Güneysu doorloopt met ons de straten van zijn hoofdstad, terwijl Ethem Pekin dan weer focust op oude super 8 films van reizen en gebeurtenissen uit het dagelijkse leven in het Turkije van de jaren ‘70. Engin Gercek verzamelt portretten in beladen en kleurrijke interieurs. Hakan Simsek, van Turkse afkomst maar woonachtig in Brussel, opent deuren van appartementen in Schaarbeek. Zeynep Kayan maakt foto’s en video’s over haarzelf en thema’s als vrouwelijkheid en de menselijke conditie. Goksin Varan tenslotte, maakte enkele straffe reportages over buitenlanders in Istanbul en de realiteit van de sloppenwijken.
